The theme for 2020 has not been announced.
This year’s theme for the Annual Giving Tree Project is All I want for Christmas is “A Giving Tree”.
The Giving Tree Service Project was first started in 2002 by the Catholic Campus Center at Washburn University. This project was put in place to help benefit the children of Topeka who are in need during the holiday season. The children range in ages from newborn to 12 years old.
This project offers Washburn students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to come to the assistance of area children and their families during the holiday season. This year we have chosen the theme, All I Want For Christmas is a "Giving Tree",
On November 2, 2018 the Giving Trees will go up in the following locations: Alpha Phi, Catholic Campus Center at WU (17th and Jewell), International House, Leadership Institute, Nursing Department, Radiology Department, Residential Living, SRWC, WSGA and Zeta Tau
Alpha.
We ask participants to pick a tag for either a boy or girl, or if they wish two or more, then return the unwrapped gift(s) with the angel tag attached to the gift to one of the eleven locations before noon on Friday, December 7th.
The organizations we are contributing to have requested that we do not wrap the gifts. The gifts received will be delivered to Let’s Help, Door Step, and The Topeka Rescue Mission on December 7th. Thank you for opening your hearts to the area children of Topeka, Kansas during this most blessed season.
